The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division is responsible for the operation of the Correctional Facility (jail). The Division does not maintain an inmate roster that the public can access online. However, it allows individuals to submit requests for such records by email and in person. The search will return several pieces of information, including the inmate’s personal, arrest, booking, and custody details, as well as charges.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office does not provide inmate searches for offenders housed in state or federal prisons. Other agencies maintain such information. For example, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) disseminates online inmate records for Saratoga County state offenders through its Incarcerated Lookup tool. Users will need a department ID number (DIN), name, or New York State ID Number (NYSID) to search. Individuals searching for federal offenders should use the Inmate Locatoron the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) website. The search criteria are number or name.

How to Find an Inmate in Saratoga County Jail

Individuals may find an inmate in Saratoga County Jail in two ways:

  • Email: Complete the Records Request Form and email it alongside a valid ID to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Records Unit at records@saratogacountyny.gov.
  • In-person: Visit the Records Unit during business hours to submit a request. How to Use the Saratoga County Jail Roster

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office does not provide an official online jail roster for public access. Therefore, anyone who wants inmate information may have to submit requests using other methods. The Sheriff’s Office Records Unit provides access to inmate records by email at records@saratogacountyny.gov and in person. Requesters may email a completed Records Request Form and a copy of their ID. In-person customers should visit the Records Unit from Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to submit their requests. What Information is Included in the Saratoga County Inmate Roster

The New York Freedom of Information Law (FOIA) authorizes public disclosure of inmate records. Therefore, law enforcement agencies in Saratoga County permit citizens to inspect or copy inmate records in their custody. Most inmate records reveal the following public information:

  • Personal identifying information: This includes the inmate’s full name, height, weight, gender, race, age, eye color, and hair color.

How to Send Money to an Inmate in Saratoga County Correctional Jail?

Family and friends may fund an inmate’s commissary account through the following ways:

  • Online: The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office partners with a third-party vendor to allow individuals to deposit money into an inmate’s account online. Depositors must create an account with the vendor and provide the Inmate’s ID or the recipient’s name.
  • Kiosk: Loved ones can visit the visitor lobby at the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office to deposit funds into an inmate’s account. The kiosk is open 24/7.
  • Telephone: Individuals may call the Sheriff’s Office at (866) 345-1884 from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., to deposit funds.
  • Mail: Money orders, personal checks, and cash may be mailed to the inmate. The jail staff will deposit the money in the inmate’s commissary account. However, the limit must be $20. The jail staff will return the money if it is over $20.

The Saratoga County Correctional Facility does not maintain an inmate search portal. Individuals may only perform inmate searches by email at records@saratogacountyny.gov or in person at the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Records Unit. A completed Records Request Form and a copy of a valid ID are required for the search.

Saratoga County Visitation Rules and Schedules

Visitors are allowed to visit inmates at the Saratoga County Correctional Jail from Tuesday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The jail also provides remote video visits through a third-party vendor. Inmates must inform their visitors of their assigned unit and the associated visitation times. Visitors coming to the facility should arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time for identification and processing. They must present a valid photo identification.

The facility only accepts photo IDs with a date of birth and an expiration date, including driver’s licenses, immigration cards, military IDs, passports, Sheriff IDs, college IDs, DMV IDs, and social services benefit cards. The facility has lockers in the lobby where visitors may secure items not allowed within the visitation area. The jail staff will screen all visitors with a magnetometer before they enter the visitation room. Upon entering the visitation room, all visitors must remain seated in the visitor-designated area. The facility allows inmates and visitors to exchange embraces and one brief kiss at the beginning and end of each visit. They may also hold hands over the partition during visitation.

  • Inmates and visitors must wear proper clothing.
  • Photographic or recording devices are not allowed in the visiting area
  • Inmates and visitors are not permitted to pass any material from one person to another
  • All visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • No visitor under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be allowed in the visiting area.
  • Visitors and inmates must behave in an orderly manner at all times, and their voices must not be loud.

Any money sent to an inmate will be deposited in their commissary account. The monetary limit is $20 maximum. Any amount over $20 will be returned to the sender. The jail only accepts printed material or publications mailed directly from the publisher. However, they may accept books from companies such as Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Walmart. Mail packages may include a set of court clothes and shoes or religious materials. No food items should be sent to an inmate through the mail.

The Saratoga County Correctional Jail allows inmates to order commissary once a week. They can purchase a variety of items, including sneakers, hygiene products, clothing, writing materials, food, and snacks.
